From 9-11 September, Brisbane's Fortitude Valley entertainment precinct will be inundated with representatives of the music industry featuring people in media, management, A&R, publicity and promotions for Bigsound 2015.
Aside from networking, and alongside 150 showcasing bands, Bigsound will also welcome 101 industry leaders who'll speak across a range of subjects pertinent to the music scene.
While new relationships will be born and deals struck during the day, once the sun goes down on Bigsound the musicians will come out to play... so we polled a number of the bands, asking them about Bigsound 2015.
City Calm Down (Jack Bourke)
“We've been waiting for the opportunity to play Bigsound for a few years now and we're really excited to get be able to perform at what's become one of Australia's most exciting music festivals/ conferences.”City Calm Collective
Tired Lion (Ethan Darnell)
“We were so stoked to be announced on the line-up as it's always been something we have wanted to do. This year seems so right; with so many of our friends playing it’s just going to be an awesome experience.”Tired Lion
Holy Holy (Timothy Carroll)
“Bigsound is the highlight of the musical calendar in Brisbane. The weather is starting to warm up, it's mid-week – so there's less fucked-up zombies around – and the place is just alive with music and music lovers. We're really looking forward to it.”Major Leagues (Anna Davidson)
“We are super excited about being involved in Bigsound this year. We've been a bit quiet lately while we build up to the release of our new EP. I think Bigsound is going to be an excellent opportunity to finally show off those new songs, not to mention the plethora of amazing artists and speakers we will get to see.”Green Buzzard (Paddy Harrowsmith)
“Being chosen to play Bigsound this year is great. Bigsound is good mainly because it's big and there's lots of sounds. If you're into small and quiet things then maybe it’s not for you, however."Green Buzzard
Harts
“I’m stoked to be invited to performing at this year’s Bigsound. It’s such a wonderful opportunity to play at Australia's music conference. Plus I'm pumped to check a few bands myself.”Harts
Hockey Dad (Billy Fleming)
“Look, we heard Peter Garrett is going to be a speaker, so we simply just had to play Bigsound this year.”
Jesse Davidson
“I'm really excited to be performing at Bigsound again this year. I think it's great event for showcasing Australian music and I'm glad to have been asked back.”JOY.
“Super-duper excited about being part of 2015's Bigsound. The roster is absolutely incredible, so much talent and so many bros.”Bigsound 2015 takes place 9-11 September.
