Big Country Australia 2025 Tour

Big Country
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and some beyond.

Scottish rockers Big Country return to Australia later this year.

The cult Celtic rock band, who were at their peak in the mid '80s and rivalled the likes of U2 and Simple Minds, remain regular tourers having just wrapped another run of UK dates.

The current line-up features original guitarist Bruce Watson, joined by his son Jamie Watson on rhythm guitar (since 2010) and lead vocalist Tommie Paxton, bassist Chris Stones and drummer Reece Dobbin (all three joining the band in 2024).

Billed as a greatest hits tour, this run of shows will travel to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in October – their first Australian shows since 2019.

Big Country fans can expect all the hits including 'Chance', 'Fields Of Fire', 'Look Away', 'Wonderland' and 'Just A Shadow' as well as the band's de facto theme song, 'In A Big Country'.

Big guitars. Big drums. Big checks on their shirts. Big Country were well named.

Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 12 May.
