Ben Folds, Josh Pyke, G Flip & More Added To Sunset Piazza 2021 Line-up

Ben Folds

After already hosting sold-out shows with Allday, Kwame and Peking Duk (just to mention a few), Sunset Piazza – from the same team behind Sydney Festival – is ramping up their live music entertainment offerings with a slew of new additions across February and March.

Set to join the action is adopted Aussie, American troubadour Ben Folds who has been stuck in Australia for months due to the pandemic; he was spotted by a Sydney Festival staffer a couple of times during morning walks. Sydney Festival programmer Chris Twite then reached out to Folds management and ta-da, he's been added to the Sunset Piazza programme.

Other notable acts added to the line-up include Eurovision heroine Kate Miller-Heidke, Sydney singer-songwriter and record producer Josh Pyke, Melburnian comedic singer-songwriter Eddie Perfect; 'Bring Me Home' and 'Killing My Time' artist G Flip, and a DJ set from three-time ARIA Award winners PNAU.

But the good times don't end there with further Sunset Piazza concerts including politically-charged hip hop artist Ziggy Ramo; soul, hip hop six-piece Winston Surfshirt; Shire songbird Ruby Fields; Sydney folk queens All Our Exes Live In Texas; and North Coast-based singer-songwriter Pete Murray.

While Casey Donovan and Trevor Ashley join The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir.

If you're after a funny dose of the lols, then the Sunset Piazza Comedy Gala featuring Wil Anderson, Sam Taunton, Danielle Walker, Oliver Twist, Alex Jae and MC Justin Hamilton has you covered.

Located at Cathedral Square opposite Hyde Park, Sunset Piazza's Italo-themed pop-up stage transforms the city into an outdoor cultural experience. With each show capped at 350 tickets, punters can expect these shows to sell out well in advance.

With a number of the previously announced shows having sold out, Sunset Piazza have released a limited number of new seats for the shows on 11-14, 18-21 February. Scroll down for the complete list of shows.

"The Sydney Festival is thrilled to curate this authentic summer programme, collaborating with the City of Sydney and NSW Government to invite Sydneysiders back to the CBD in a COVID safe environment," Sydney Festival Artistic Director Olivia Ansell says.

"Sunset Piazza is reigniting Sydney's night-time economy, offering $25 tickets to a first-class line-up of Australian talent, while also employing hundreds of artists and crew, which is another important step towards industry recovery."

Sunset Piazza will follow COVID-safe regulations and guests are reminded to follow the latest NSW Health advice.

Sunset Piazza takes place at Cathedral Square (Sydney) on selected nights between 11 February and 21 March.
