If you don't know their music, you sure know their faceless faces. But, if you don't know their music, why did you click on this story?
They've been teasing for weeks with posters and social media posts, but it's official now. As the band prepare to embark on their biggest US tour to date with Marilyn Manson and Of Mice & Men – plus their headline gig at the united Ozzfest/ Knotfest with Black Sabbath – the nu metallers are heading down under for shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
They'll be supporting their Grammy-nominated album '.5: The Gray Chapter', their fifth studio album which was released in October 2014. The album is the first not to feature bassist Paul Gray and long-time drummer Joey Jordison (who departed in late-2013).

The album comes four year's after the death of founding member Paul Gray, who was found to have overdosed on perscription morphine. While the LP magnified the grieving process, it also united the band said lead singer Corey Taylor in an interview with scenestr last year. “There were some intense days in the studio... There were times I was so in the moment I was either breaking down or throwing up, and a lot of times doing both at the same time. There was something intuitively different about this album.”
Slipknot stand out as one of history's most impactful and culturally significant hard rock entities – and not just because of their visual presence. Since first landing in '99, the group has garnered 11 platinum and 38 gold record certifications globally, with 2008’s platinum-selling 'All Hope Is Gone' debuting at #1 in 7 countries, including Oz. There are plenty more accolades, but their music speaks for itself...
