After dazzling crowds at landmark venues from London's Royal Albert Hall to New York's Carnegie Hall, Beck has confirmed Australian audiences will soon have their first chance to experience the magic of his live orchestral performances this May.
The 'Loser', 'E-Pro' and 'Where's It At' hitmaker will team with Sydney Symphony Orchestra for three spellbinding performances at Sydney Opera House, before joining Philharmonia Australia for two concerts at Palais Theatre in Melbourne.
Each performance will see Beck and orchestra reimagine a body of work including the hits and a few deep cuts from classic Beck works including 'Odelay', 'Mutations', 'Sea Change', and Grammy Awards Album Of The Year 'Morning Phase', plus a share of surprises.
As Variety stated: 'Other cities and other coasts deserve a piece of this big musical win, too. . . deeply gorgeous stuff.'
Philharmonia Australia will feature Orchestra Director Leah Zweck with Orchestra Supervisor Chong Lim AM. Philharmonia Australia is one of the country's leading session orchestras and has been the orchestra of choice for numerous national tours with Josh Groban, John Farnham & Olivia Newton-John, Hans Zimmer, Michael Bolton, Harry Connick Jnr and Ministry Of Sound.
Meanwhile, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra is one of Australia's flagship orchestras, performing up to 150 concerts a year to a combined annual audience of more than 350,000.
Last month, Beck released 'Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime' a compilation album. "A lovingly curated collection of rarities, deep cuts and cover versions (including 'Can't Help Falling In Love' and 'I Only Have Eyes For You') which features never before released recordings of 'Your Cheatin' Heart' and 'True Love Will Find You In The End'."
Tickets to the Sydney concerts on sale from 10m (local time) on 5 March. Tickets to the Melbourne concerts on sale from 11am (local time) on 5 March.
