After its inaugural event staged last year, Central Queensland music festival BE Social Fest returns to the events calendar this winter with a stacked line-up of festival veterans.
Set to take place at Mackay, the tropical coastal city will be one of the warmest climates in the land (Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge. Roadtrip!) when BE Social Fest lands at Harrup Park 6 August.Electronic, hip hop stalwarts Hermitude headline BE Social Fest fresh off the release of their newest studio album 'Mirror Mountain' – that features the singles 'St Claire' and their collab with The Jungle Giants 'When You Feel Like This'.
2021 ARIA Award winners (Best Rock Album) and indie champions, Middle Kids also bring their brand of honest, raw and relatable songwriting ('Questions', 'R U 4 Me?' and 'Stacking Chairs') to Mackay.
Then there's Aussie hip hop OGs Thundamentals whose boom-bap, pop-flavoured hip hop has been inspiring a generation since they landed in the late noughties.
"We've spent a lot of time inside the studio these last two years, but there's nothing like playing music live. It's where the best connection and the realest energy is!" shares Hermitude.
While Thundas are equally excited to return to stage to showcase new material. "We're really excited to be back on the road again. With new music on the way it's awesome to be able to connect with our fans again in person!"
BE Social Fest's ethos embraces a message of community togetherness, which was highlighted magnificently in the event's very first year when a series of storms threatened to derail the event, which was moved from an outdoor event to indoors (on the day of the event).
"The 2021 event was one of the worst yet best experiences of my life," Festival Owner/ Director Michael Delaney says.
"It was hard with so many one step forward, two step back moments but when we opened the gates in crazy weather and the crowds flooded in I couldn't have been happier."
Other notable additions to the 2022 line-up are Mashd N Kutcher, Peach PRC, KLP, LO'9 and Wa-Fu.
"So excited to be playing my first ever festival performance at BE Social and looking forward to playing all my singles and some new songs for everyone," Peach PRC says.
Tickets on sale from 8am (local time) on 19 May.
BE Social Fest takes place at Harrup Park (Mackay) on 6 August.
