A leader of multicultural arts in Brisbane and the wider Queensland community for nearly four decades, BEMAC are currently seeking applications for season two of their 2024 programme.
Themed around 'creative confluence', BEMAC's 2024 season features a selection of works and performances underpinned by three core principles: courageous in creativity, determined in diversity, and enablers of change. The March-June programme features 13 performances, which were selected after receiving 47 proposals from the creative community, spanning music, dance, poetry and, for the first time in BEMAC's history, theatre.
The second season of BEMAC's 2024 programme will run from July to December and include up to five BEMAC Live shows, up to four BEMAC Unplugged shows and one show during Melt Open. The invitation is open to individuals, bands, collectives, community groups and non-profit organisations.
BEMAC will partner with artists and presenters to deliver the best possible show based on their proposals, supporting all technical, promotional, logistical and planning aspects of their shows.
For this season, BEMAC will also expand the venues in which these shows are presented, to include potential partnerships with VENTspace, the Thomas Dixon Centre, Studio 188 and the Kingston Butter Factory, among others.
Proposals need to demonstrate a clear, original concept and respond to at least one of our programming core principles, and a high level of artistic practice and a commitment to representing diverse voices, cultural identities and expressions.
Submit your proposal by midnight 8 April.
