Bass Kleph: Top 5 Non-Electronic Acts

Bass Kleph
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

DJ Bass Kleph has compiled a list of his favorite music that hasn't been made with a computer.

He's currently in the middle of a ten-date Australian tour that is setting dance floors on fire from Mooloolaba to Milperra. However, even superstar DJ's need a break from their decks ...

1. Fat Freddy's Drop - New Zealand dub at its finest! I can listen to this anytime, no matter how I feel. Incredible song writing and performance.

2. Jose Gonzales - It's all about the songs. Just guitar voice, but that's all he needs. Beautiful chilled music that breaks my heart.

3. Drake - I suppose this is still kinda electronic, but I'm putting it in anyway. Killer fresh hip hop with a soulful songwriter side to it too.

4. At The Drive In - No longer together but I still listen to these guys a lot. Crazy, trashy rock'n'roll. Incredible players and really weird yet catchy songs

5. N.E.R.D - Beyond cool, but what else can you expect from Pharrel's pet project? They can do it all, and with style.

Bass Kleph plays the following dates:

Fri Jun 14 - Black Betty's (Perth)
Sat Jun 15 - Marquee (Sydney)
Wed June 19 - Agenda Nightclub (Toowoomba)
Fri Jun 21 - The Mill (Millperra)
Sat Jun 22 - Levels (Melbourne)
