With her new single 'I Hate Your Ex-Girlfriend' landing this Friday, BANKS is bringing the Goddess: 10 Year Anniversary Live tour to Australia for an exclusive one-off concert next month.
Already scheduled to perform intimate concerts in London, Los Angeles and New York City next week (in the same venues she originally played when touring her debut album 'Goddess' a decade ago), the California-bred singer-songwriter will reimagine the record acoustically with an exclusive concert in Melbourne as part of the Always Live programme. Last month BANKS aka Jillian Rose Banks revealed she'd be releasing an acoustic version of 'Goddess' to celebrate the album's decade milestone (no release date has been set).
Featuring production from the likes of Justin Parker, Shlohmo and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, 'Goddess' introduced BANKS' moody indietronica and atmospheric contemporary R&B style, and features such bangers as 'Beggin For Thread', 'Waiting Game', 'Someone New' and 'Drowning'.
"Today is such a special day. It's the 10th anniversary of my debut album 'Goddess'," BANKS posted last month, "and I just wanted to take a second to jump on here and tell you guys how grateful I am for you, how much you mean to me – everybody that's been there with me since day one and of course the ones who have joined along the way. I love you from the bottom of my heart and I wanted to do something special for you guys."
