The Ipswich Battle of the Bands is back for 2016.
Last year’s inaugural event in Ipswich City Square was a resounding success which saw 17 finalists battle it out, eventually won by heavy hitters Chasing Closure.
From rap and hip-hop, to metal, screamo, Top 40 and more, each competing band will receive a 10-minute performance slot where they’ll try to wow both the judges and the audiences in a bid to win a recording session, a music video shoot, and media exposure in local and metro media. All back-end will be set up, with a full drum kit and riser, mics, amps, mixers and sound production all provided throughout the day.
The Ipswich City Square creative team are looking for the next big Aussie act and are keen to help support and build the local music scene in the 'Swich. They're focused on developing a creative and vibrant hub in the centre of town to encourage people to visit, stay and play in Ipswich.
