Brisbane is about to welcome its newest live music venue, The Fortitude Music Hall and we're all invited to celebrate at the official opening party.
With construction nearly complete on the largest ballroom/theatre-styled space in Australia, The Fortitude Music Hall will be given a baptism of fire with the help of headline acts Ball Park Music, DZ Deathrays and Tia Gostelow.
Brisbane’s melancholic pop masters Ball Park Music have become one of the cities most successful exports in the past few years.
They'll be joined by another one of the most recognisable rock acts to come from the Sunshine State capital, DZ Deathrays playing a full set on opening night. One of the most exciting new faces to be born from regional Queensland Tia Gostelow will open proceedings.
Hosted by The Grates frontwoman Patience Hodgson, also on deck for the party will be some of Brisbane's favourite sons and daughters, including Powderfinger alumni Bernard Fanning and Ian Haug, Custard frontman Dave McCormack, singer-songwriter Thelma Plum, Busby Marou, Velociraptor frontman Jeremy Neale and singer-songwriter Sahara Beck.
DZ Deathrays perform at The Fortitude Music Hall opening party.
Located on Brunswick St Mall, The Fortitude Music Hall is a truly visionary entertainment precinct for the city of Brisbane and has been designed as an important centrepiece of the masterplan to maintain Fortitude Valley’s position as a must-stop destination for local and international touring artists and an entertainment hub for locals.
The project has been spearheaded by a private entity made up of Scott Hutchinson of Hutchinson Builders and the co-owners/ operators of The Triffid, Paul Piticco and ex-Powderfinger bassist John 'JC' Collins.
The opening of The Fortitude Music Hall is hoped to be the dawn of a new chapter in Brisbane's proud and rich live music history.
The Fortitude Music Hall (312-318 Brunswick St, Brisbane) opening party is on 26 July.
