Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

A quarter of a century since they released their debut album, late '90s early noughties pop-rock icons Bachelor Girl will celebrate with a series of celebration concerts.

The Australian duo of vocalist Tania Doko and musician James Roche, Bachelor Girl quickly became FM radio favourites thanks to their 1998 debut single 'Buses And Trains' (which remains their biggest hit) and follow-up single, 'Treat Me Good'.

Both of those singles feature on the 'Waiting For The Day' album as well as 'Lucky Me', 'Permission To Shine' and 'Blown Away', the band nominated for Breakthrough Artist at 1999 ARIA Awards, where the record won the Producer Of The Year award.

After releasing a sophomore album, 2002's 'Dysfunctional' (featuring lead single 'I'm Just A Girl'), the pair split amicably in 2004 despite work commencing on a third studio record.

Now Bachelor Girl are embarking on an anniversary tour, playing Brunswick Heads, Melbourne (x2 shows) and Sydney (performing at the Opera House, a real bucket list moment for Tania and James) in May/ June, performing 'Waiting For The Day' from start to finish, showcasing the songs with fresh, new arrangements, reinterpreting the music that has touched the hearts of so many.

"We can't wait to celebrate this album with you all in person. It's going to be an unforgettable ride – so come and relive the magic of 'Waiting For The Day' with us, in a way you've never heard before."

The pair remain 'thankful' for the impact of the album continues to resonate with fans to this day. "We are so incredibly thankful to still be here, sharing our music with all of you, and to know that 'Waiting For The Day' has meant so much to so many of you," Tania says.

"You've supported us with unwavering enthusiasm, and hearing how our songwriting and creations have carried you through tough times or brought joyous singing car sessions (!!) into your life has kept us positively chuffed to this day."

After releasing a new single, 'Calling Out Your Name', in 2023, Bachelor Girl are touring with The Corrs this week before teaming with Icehouse and Wolfmother as part of the Red Hot Summer Tour.
