The 2023 Australian Women In Music Awards (AWMA) is a unique, groundbreaking programme featuring some of Australia’s top female artists.

The event will be hosted by Yumi Stynes and Nartarsha Bamblett. It’s a two-day Conference, Awards Ceremony and Concert programme in Brisbane hosting some of the industry’s top female music practitioners, First Nations and multicultural artists, leaders, and emerging talents.

Artists include Vanessa Amorosi, Sarah McLeod, Dami Im, Vika & Linda, Beccy Cole, Hot Brown Honey, Samira El Koussa, Candice Bankovacki and Véronique Serret.

The 2023 AWMA continues to provide a unique platform for robust, dynamic conversations. These will be had throughout a series of forums, showcases and performances, an intimate ‘In Conversation’ with Vanessa Amorosi, and a major awards show, black carpet and concert.

“In my own experience I’ve worked with some incredible women throughout my career,” Vanessa Amorosi says. “My current team including my management, record label, booking agent and branding agencies are all run by women. I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Vicki Gordon throughout my career; she was a part of my journey all through my success when I first started and the memories I have are nothing but influential and hardworking. I’m so looking forward to performing and supporting AWMA this year and to celebrate the women in our industry.”

Vicki Gordon is AWMA Executive Producer And Program Director.

“AWMA will always be at the forefront of change in the Australian Music Industry and we continue to insist the industry adopt gender equality as a core music industry value,” Vicki says.

“AWMA's mission is to give voice to a dynamic community of voices and to showcase performances that exemplify the strengths and diversity of Australian Women in Music in a powerful, inclusive and unique celebration.”

The Awards Ceremony and Concert will be shown nationally on ABC, and streamed on ABC iView from 29 September. The soundtrack to this year’s broadcast will be written by GLVES and Arrowbird, produced by Arrowbird and mixed/mastered by Antonia Gauci. It’s a First Nations composition commissioned by AWMA.
