In a win for all Australian independent musicians and artists, the country's peak body for the independent record industry – Australian Independent Record Label Association (AIR) – will waive membership fees for its Independent Artist category.
Given income sources related to touring and related fields have all but dried up the past two years, this offers arrives when artists need it most.Effective immediately, the subscription usually costs $165 per annum and will allow new members to access knowledge, connection, advocacy and exposure to the market.
As members, artists will be able access AIR events and professional development opportunities, as well as take advantage of many other benefits and discounts.
Members also have the exclusive ability to nominate and vote in the annual AIR Awards – all for free.
