Ausmusic T-Shirt Day Wants You: Support Australia's Indie Musicians & Grassroots Scene

Ausmusic T-Shirt Day takes place on 30 November, 2023.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

It's just under three weeks till Support Act's annual fundraiser Ausmusic T-Shirt Day returns (30 November).

This year's Ausmusic T-Shirt Day ambassadors are led by Amy Shark, Budjerah and Jimmy Barnes, who are joined by a raft of famous faces of Australian music, radio and stage who have all thrown their support behind the day.

These faces include Alex Lahey, Baker Boy, Bryce and Concetta (triple j), Busby Marou, Charlie Collins, Client Liaison, Dale Tanner, Fiona Horne, Gretta Ray, Hevenshe, Jet, Josh Pyke, May-A, Monica Trapaga, Peach PRC, Randy Feltface, Veronique Serrett, Voyager, William Barton and inaugural crew ambassadors Christian McBride and Juvi (Yellow Beanie).

"Ausmusic T-Shirt Day is such a special day and I'm so honoured to be an ambassador this year," Amy Shark says. "November 30 is a day where we can all rally together, show our support of Aussie music and raise much-needed funds for Support Act who do amazing work for artists, crew and music workers across the industry."

So if you're able to assist with a donation, your generosity will go a long way in fostering the viable future of Australia's independent music industry. Even the small donations are super valuable.

Held during Ausmusic Month, Ausmusic T-Shirt Day is primarily a celebration of Australian music, but also to raise urgently-needed funds for music workers in crisis.

Funds raised from the campaign go toward helping Support Act continue its crucial work supporting musicians, managers, crew and music works, through crisis relief support, mental health and well-being programmes, the Support Act Wellbeing Helpline, Mentally Healthy Workplaces Program and dedicated First Nations support.

You can also get involved by buying an Ausmusic T-Shirt from the official premium artist range, and/ or making a donation.

"In music, every little bit matters, so this Ausmusic T-Shirt Day on Thursday 30 November, we ask anyone who loves Aussie music to show their act of support by buying an Ausmusic t-shirt or making a donation so that we can continue our crucial work," Support Act CEO Clive Miller says.

"The music we love doesn't sound the same without the people behind the scenes, so head to ausmusictshirtday.org.au now to find out how you can get involved and support Aussie music workers in need. Keep your eyes peeled for our incredible ambassador announcement coming soon!"

There are a couple of special designs this year, including the High Tees: Iconic Women in Aus Music tee celebrating 14 female icons of Australian music, and the Homegrown tee with 30 Aussie artists hand drawn by designer, Kylie Strachan, and supported by Bernard Fanning.
