Emerging South Australian bands, start your engines because entries for Music SA's Bands On Track competition are now open, giving six of you the opportunity to perform onstage at the Superloop Adelaide 500.
Now in its ninth year, the initiative is a collaboration between Music SA and the Superloop Adelaide 500 that selects six South Australian bands to perform in front of thousands of eager music-lovers and motorsports fans from all over the world.
In 2019, the successful bands will be joining the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Vance Joy, Amy Shark, Jet and The Living End over three massive nights of live music.
Two bands will be chosen for each of the three concert nights, with Vance Joy and Amy Shark on Friday, Jet and The Living End on Saturday, and the coveted Sunday night show alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers. Also, it's a paid gig.
Since Bands On Track began with four bands in 2011, the programme has helped more than 40 South Australian acts onto the big stage. Previous winners include The Beards, Bad//Dreems, Grenadiers, Koolta, Vents, Echo And The Empress, Lazy Eye, Horror My Friend, Wanderers, Kitchen Witch, Ollie English, Hana and Jessie-Lee, Young Offenders, Donnarumma, Koral & The Goodbye Horses and Neon Tetra.
All original contemporary musicians from South Australia are eligible to enter the Bands On Track competition, which close 5pm, January 30. Winners will be judged by a panel from Music SA and announced on 14 February.
