Electronic dance punks, Art vs Science return with their first new music in over a year with the boogie-licious, disco house dance floor burner 'Sweat' – a track that will transport you to a throbbing, heaving festival crowd.
The trio of Dan Mac, Dan W and Jim Finn worked with The Presets' Kim Moyes to produce an instant hit that's the first foray of more music from the group with a series of B-sides to be released in the lead up to Christmas.Of the release, Dan Mac shares: "'Sweat' started in the middle of 2020 lockdown with an instruction from Jim: 'Can you make something that feels like the whole world kicking in as you enter the nightclub and you lose yourself, get carried away and fall in love with a stranger.'
"I don't actually like that feeling and prefer to be cool and calm, but after hanging up the phone I thought, why not!
"So I got out my drum machine and put together a bassline and beat, and by the end of the week the chorus was written in my head.
"A year later we were sifting through our creations and found it again, and loved it. We asked Kim Moyes from The Presets if he could give it some extra production love – happily he said yes!
"And the first thing he did was delete everything except the vocals and bassline. We've never written this way for Art vs Science and it was really fun to just throw the rulebook out and do whatever was making our heads nod."
The group will have heads nodding IRL with headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney next month, a slot at the sold out NYE On The Hill (in Gippsland), before a trip north to Brisbane in February. Tickets on sale.
