ARIA Dumps Rolf Harris From Hall Of Fame

Founder and Publisher. Based in Brisbane.
Howard started Scene Magazine in 1993. Paul Keating was Prime Minister. Whitney, Janet and Mariah all had Aussie #1s and Mark Zuckerberg was 9. Over 30 years he's overseen the growth of scenestr magazine to become Australia's largest – and only national – street press while forging a digital-first imperative for the title in the mid-naughties. He's judged more battle of the bands than he cares to remember and proud of the myriad media partnerships the company has earned across the music, arts and comedy sectors. He likes Star Trek and a good Oxford Comma – way too much fun at parties.

Following his conviction in UK courts, the ARIA Board has made the decision to withdraw the ARIA Hall of Fame award bestowed upon Rolf Harris.

The Australian Record Industry Association made the announcement on its website today, following the verdict in Harris' long-running case — the second high-profile conviction under Operation Yewtree.

Rolf Harris, AO, CBE (born 30 March 1930) is an Australian-born, British-based entertainer. He is a musician, singer-songwriter, composer, painter, and former television personality. He has lived in the UK for more than five decades, but was born and grew up in Perth, Western Australia.

A poll taken by Reader's Digest Australia before Harris's conviction listed him as #90 among Australia's 100 most trusted people.
