Arctic Monkeys Add Pond To Bill

Pond
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Arctic Monkeys have announced that psychedelic Perth rockers Pond will join them on their Australian tour.

Formed in 2008 by Nick Allbrook, Jay Watson and Joseph Ryan, Pond started as a loose collective of like-minded WA musicians (some of whom also played in Tame Impala), but they've evolved into their own band over the past six years. Allbrook has said their fifth album, 'Hobo Rocket', was motivated by "finding our own little place in music, and being more of a functioning band, which is what makes it noisier and denser... we went as brutally hard as we would at a show. We wanted the songs to sound loose and live."

Pond played a number of sold-out shows last year to promote 'Hobo Rocket', but supporting Arctic Monkeys' will be yet another step forward for the group.
