Barbie Girl is headed to Australia in 2024.
One of the biggest global mainstream acts of the late '90s, Danish-Norwegian pop, Eurodance icons Aqua, best known for their loveable, upbeat club banger 'Barbie Girl', will headline concerts in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth this March – their first shows down under since 2018.While they're best known for 'Barbie Girl', Aqua have also produced the bangers 'Doctor Jones', 'Lollipop (Candyman)', 'Roses Are Red', 'Around The World' and 'Cartoon Heroes'.
Aqua's most recent album was 2011's 'Megalomania', which followed their 2000 sophomore record 'Aquarius'.
The run of shows will also see Aqua host some of the '90s biggest dance-pop acts with the line-up in each city to feature Belgian-Dutch dance-floor slayers 2 Unlimited ('No Limit', 'Get Ready' and 'Twilight Zone'), English boy band East 17 ('Stay Another Day', 'It's Alright' and 'House Of Love'), and British electronic dance music duo Phats & Small ('Turn Around').
The remainder of the bill features Big Brovaz ('Nu Flow', 'Baby Boy'), Booty Luv ('Boogie 2Nite'), and Urban Cookie Collective ('The Key, The Secret', 'Feels Like Heaven').
So what are you waiting for? It's time to dig through the back of your wardrobe for those long-forgotten bike pants, crop tops and slip dresses paired with a vibrant, colourful scrunchy.
Tickets on sale from 9am (local time) on 25 January.
