At the weekend news arrived that another live music venue, The Joynt, will close its doors forever.
The South Brisbane institution announced the news via it’s Facebook page on June 7:
Yesterday the Joynt got some sad news. The landlord wants us out by June 30 – the lease will NOT be renewed. We are approaching the end of an era. As there are only 23 days left to celebrate the Joynts existance, the plan is to create an ongoing festival for the month of June. Confirmed lineup is seen in the image above. Plus LOADS of other artists, bands, musicians that are soon to be announced. You can’t miss these finals days! So come and soak up the Joynts great vibes while you still can! From now onwards, we’re open: 7 days a week 12pm-12am Live music Sat/ Sun 12pm-12am Live music every other night from 6pm CLOSED FROM 30TH OF JUNE … FOREVER!
