Djent maestros, Animals As Leaders return to Australia in 2025.
The Washington D.C. heavy music instrumental lords will perform their 2014 album 'The Joy Of Motion' in its entirety when they headline concerts in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth in September.The trio of Tosin Abasi, Javier Reyes and Matt Garstka will also perform a secondary set of their progressive metal masterpieces, the tour levelling up with the additional of Long Island’s experimental metal powerhouse Car Bomb.
Prog-metal fans can expect an evening of mind-bending virtuosity, innovation, and unrelenting energy, as Animals As Leaders navigate the complete palette of expanding eight string guitars, lush synths and polyrhythmic grooves.
A record that debuted at #23 on the US Billboard 200 (a phenomenon feat for an underground act), 'The Joy Of Motion' helped redefine progressive metal. Tracks like album opener, 'Kascade' and 'The Woven Web' have clocked up over ten million streams, while the epic Physical Education is closing in on 22 million streams (all on Spotify).
Although three years removed from their last studio album, 2022's 'Parrhesia', Animals As Leaders recently completed a 16-date UK-European tour celebrating the tenth anniversary of 'The Joy Of Motion'.
Now in their 25th year of existence, New York's Car Bomb continue to attract a cult following with their chaotic mix of polyrhythms, shifting tempos and harmonically deconstructive riffs.
With four records released across the years – 'Centralia' (2007), 'w^w^^w^w' (2012), 'Meta' (2016), and 'Mordial' (2019), Car Bomb's resume also includes touring with heavyweights like Meshuggah, Gojira and The Dillinger Escape Plan.
