Amanda Palmer — musician, avid blogger and controversy magnet — is writing a book, and she'd like you to help her out.
The outspoken crowdsourcing advocate says she started getting a slew of emails from various literary agents and publishers after the success of her TED talk, 'The Art Of Asking'. (She ended up choosing Grand Central Publishing, a branch of Hachette that's recently published books by Amy Sedaris, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Jane Goodall.)
In typical Palmer fashion, she's hitting her audience up for content by asking them a series of questions on her blog and Facebook, with the intent of using some of the answers in the book. The book's central theme is "asking, and why it is hard", so it's no surprise that this is her first question:
"What is the difference between asking & begging?"
She's already had a celebrity response, from former My Chemical Romance frontman (and perpetually nice guy) Gerard Way.
ooh good one. thanks g. RT @gerardway Asking is a request that comes from personal power. Begging is when you've given it to someone else.

To add your response (and read what others are saying), head to Palmer's blog, or her Facebook page.
While you're at it, why not ask her a question about 'white privilege'? That'll be fun for everybody.
