British indie rockers alt-J have postponed their Australian tour, which was meant to commence in three weeks, to 2023 citing 'new and evolving logistical challenges of touring in a post pandemic world'.
The band will now play shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth April-May 2023. The original Adelaide concert has been cancelled outright.alt-J will be touring their newest studio album, 'The Dream', released earlier this year as well as performing two special sold-out concerts (in Sydney and Melbourne) playing their 2012 album 'An Awesome Wave' from start to finish.
"Due to the new and evolving logistical challenges of touring in a post pandemic world, we have sadly, after much debate, been forced to reschedule the Australian and New Zealand leg of The Dream tour to 2023," alt-J says.
"We are so sorry to disappoint all our fans down under who have already bought tickets for these shows, expecting them to take place next month.
"You have always been so supportive and we are really looking forward to seeing you next year.
"Unfortunately we won't be able to play our scheduled show at AEC Theatre [in Adelaide]. We're really sorry but rest assured we're working on plans to get back to South Australia as soon as we can – stay tuned."
Tickets are available for the 2023 dates. Tickets already purchased remain valid for the new dates.
