All four members of UK indie pop band, Viola Beach, and their manager have been tragically killed after the car they were travelling in plunged more than 20 metres off a bridge into a canal in Sweden.
The four band members: Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe and Jack Dakin along with their manager, Craig Tarry, were returning to London to play a show at The Boileroom on Saturday night after playing a music festival on Friday.
The group's car plunged through a gap in the bridge, which was closing after letting a vessel sail through. The accident occurred at around 2.30am on Saturday.
The Boileroom cancelled the gig releasing a statement: 'We are saddened and devastated as details have come to light of this tragic accident. Our thoughts are with family and friends.'
Viola Beach had recently released their second single, 'Boys That Sing', and were scheduled to play prominent showcases at SXSW in Texas next month.
