Four years removed from her previous studio record (2018's 'Awake'), Australian electronic artist Alison Wonderland is ready to unleash her newest album project, titled 'Loner'.

Billboard Dance's Breakout Artist of 2018, Alison has dropped a new single from 'Loner' (which will be released 6 May) with the release of 'New Day' – a song that marries acoustic and ambient elements with Alison's emotive vocals; it's a pop banger destined for dance floors.

The music video for 'New Day' features a Western theme with a blindfolded Wonderland riding horseback battling foes by shooting red laser beams from her eyes (it's super cool).

Just before the dawn of the pandemic, after riding a massive global wave of success Alison found herself alone. But rather than feeling sorry for herself, she quickly dusted herself off and approached the creative path for her next studio album.

"My life was going a certain way before something pulled everything out from under me," recalls Alison. "It left me entirely alone, and it all happened around the same time as COVID. I felt like I had hit my rock bottom.

Like rereading the pages of old diaries, she revisited her own albums for the first time in a long time. "I realised that I have always seen myself as the victim of my story," she explains.

"This time, something shifted in me, and I decided that I didn't want to be the victim anymore. Instead, whatever I wrote from here would empower me, and help me find strength in this loneliness.

"For me, 'Loner' felt like a rebirth. I owe it to whoever else is out there who was like me, wishing that they had an album like this to empower them to feel less alone and know that it's all going to be okay one day."

'Loner' will be released 6 May, 2022. Pre-order it.
