Canadian pop singer-songwriter, Alessia Cara is bringing her world tour to Australia in 2025.
The former Grammy Award winner of Best New Talent, who released her fourth studio album 'Love & Hyperbole' on Friday, will headline concerts in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in May. The new record 'traces an enthralling journey through the ups, downs, twists, and turns of infatuation, love, heartbreak, and letting go'. "My favourite album I've ever made, finally yours. Thank you so much for listening," posted Alessia.
"One thought that keeps poking its head out when I think of this album is that I guess it's a declaration of sorts: accepting loss for what it is has led me to accepting love for what it can be.
"'Can' is the key. 'Can' means to be planted, grown, stretched, transferred, transformed, expanded, and personified. I learned so much while writing these songs. Even in moments charged by fear or uncertainty, I really wanted them to stand firm and not shy away from themselves, mirroring what I'd like to think I'm actively practicing in my real life.
"These days I try to wrap my arms tightly around the joy I've found through opening myself up to love and loss ion all their complex shapes, but simultaneously throw them up over my head in radical surrender (occasionally through gritted teeth and closed fists, but surrounding nonetheless) to life's swinging pendulum – thus far and from now on."
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 21 February.
