Soundwave's promoter AJ Maddah, has confirmed there will be no Soundwave in 2017. Anywhere.
Maddah responded to a question querying Soundwave's future on Twitter this afternoon by saying "Definitely no SW17. It's a lot of hard work, stress & risk in return for which we get hate & stupidity #OverIt."
There is also a series of Tweets relating to Maddah's discussions with Bring Me The Horizon who announced yesterday that they were "not 100% locked in".
The cancellation opens the door for the outspoken promoter to perhaps re-brand and re-launch a boutique series of festivals in the same vein as the 'Unify' back-to-back sellouts.
This year's event's ticket sales were described as 'reasonable' following a scaling back from two days to one and criticism of the lineup. The Adelaide and Perth legs were scrapped one and two years ago respectively as unviable.
