The countdown to one of Australia’s biggest independent music industry gatherings, the Indie-Con Australia Conference and A2IM’s Indie Week Australian Edition, is on.
This year, Indie-Con celebrates its 10th event, returning to Australia’s first and only UNESCO City Of Music, supported by the South Australian Government.
Across three days, Adelaide will become a global meeting point, for independent labels, artists, managers, distributors, tech leaders and music advocates from all over. Last year’s conference was a sold-out success, and it was also where the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) hosted A2IM’s first-ever Indie Week Australian Edition as part of Indie-Con Australia. The programme welcomed delegates and speakers from the likes of the USA, Japan, the Philippines, Korea, Europe, New Zealand, and of course Australia.

The conference tackled some of the most pressing issues facing the independent sector: global growth beyond traditional markers, the importance of cultural understanding, local partnerships, long-term international strategy, deal-making in the age of AI, the rising value of back catalog, why radio caps must go, globalisation, insights in to the New Zealand market, and the ever-changing world of touring, data for decision-making, and more.
More speakers will be revealed in the coming months.
Indie-Con Australia and A2IM's Indie Week Australian Edition takes place in Adelaide from 29-31 July.
