Global superstar Adele has taken to social media to announce the indefinite postponement of her ‘Weekends With Adele’ Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace.
Citing COVID cases and delivery delays, Adele posted to Twitter, breaking the news with only one day to spare before the residency was set to begin.
“I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready,” Adele began in the tearful video. “Half my crew, half my team are down with COVID, they still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show.”
“I’m gutted.”
With countries around the world now learning to live with the virus and international travel back on the cards, some big fans who had shelled out large amounts of money to travel to Vegas weren’t pleased with the news.
“Imagine having flown in from outside the US?” One Twitter user replied. “You can’t do this a day before the first show.”

Others agreed, addressing the fact that the residency had been in the works for months and that action should've been taken earlier on – “I’m sorry, you knew COVID was a problem and you should have cancelled much sooner. I’m disappointed with how this was handled” . . . “Why wait so last min [sic] to announce? I am on the plane to Vegas…”
Meanwhile, many were much more understanding of the situation.
“I had tickets to see u [sic] tomorrow and it’s fine, health will always come first and specially [sic] in times like this, can’t wait for all the shows to get rescheduled”. . . “This is in no way, shape or form your fault”.
New dates for the ‘Weekends With Adele’ residency are yet to be announced.
