With more than 300 live music events expected, Music SA's Umbrella: Winter City Sounds will return to Adelaide this July expanding its offering to include the city's surrounding suburbs.
Designed to extend Adelaide’s cultural festival activity beyond Mad March, the two-week Umbrella winter festival (13-29 July) will extend into the outskirts of metropolitan Adelaide with suburban venues partaking and through local council activations.
Lisa Bishop, General Manager of Music SA said that she is excited to launch the festival for its third consecutive year.
“Extending the event into the suburbs is a direct response to the overwhelming interest we received from artists, bands and venues to bring the festival to their local communities and to include councils and iconic metro venues,” she says.
Event registration opens online from 26 March (click here for more details).
Any artist, hotel, venue, local council or promoter is welcome to register their gigs to be included in the Umbrella: Winter City Sounds printed programme as well as the digital programme on the Umbrella website.
To learn more about registering for inclusion in the 2018 Umbrella Festival, Music SA will be running a free information session at St Paul’s Creative Centre on Monday 26 March.
Also returning in 2018 is Scouted, Music SA’s multi-venue event featuring South Australia’s best, unsigned artists.
Last year’s inaugural event saw Music SA partner with AIR and Indie Con to showcase 15 local musicians to hundreds of industry professionals and music fans. This year the event will take place on 27 July in its new location in Adelaide’s West End.
