More than 370,000 AC/DC ticket were sold last Thursday, setting a new record.
Ticket agency Ticketek said, "the result set an all-time high for daily sales on thier platform surpassing the previous record set during The Ashes on-sale earlier this month".
The result, achieved across multiple cities made it the biggest concert on-sale day in Ticketek’s 40+ year history and it also eclipsed the band’s own 2009 record.
In a server-melting 24-hour period, the agency sold close to 50,000 tickets across its broader event portfolio, including key performances from Lightscape, the NRL, AFL, and major theatre productions.
Cameron Hoy, Ticketek Entertainment Group’s Head of Global Ticketing, said, “These results are a reflection of the collaboration, passion, and sheer effort from every part of our business. I’m incredibly proud of what the team haveaccomplished.”
Extra shows were scheduled for Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. No extra shows are possible in Adelaide. Final tickets are on sale now.
