After staging its inaugural event in 2018, Dylan Alcott's Ability Fest returns to Melbourne in 2023 offering all music lovers another day-long adventure featuring some of the biggest names in Australian music.
Hip hop OGs Hilltop Hoods headline the music line-up, joining ARIA-winning rapper-singer Sampa The Great ('Energy'), rock-pop singer-songwriter Meg Mac, New Zealand pop sibling duo Broods, and 'Love Tonight' electronic duo Shoush.Then there's punk-rockers DZ Deathrays, pop trio Telenova, alternative singer-songwriter Alex Lahey.
Joining them on the Dance Stage will be Mashd N Kutcher, PARIS, dameeeela, Linda Marigliano, Tyson O'Brien, Juno Mamba, Latifa Tee, Mulalo and Tiff Cornish.
A leader of staging an inclusive event for everyone, Ability Fest (25 March) is Australia's first all accessible music festival offering patrons elevated platforms, pathways, a dedicated sensory area, quiet zones, companion ticketing, ramps, friendly volunteers, Auslan interpreters, accessible toilets and more.
"I'm so proud to see the path Ability Fest has already paved for inclusive events across the country," Alcott says, who was the 2022 Australian Of The Year.
"First and foremost, our main priority is to create a kick-ass festival that happens to be accessible. And that's something I think we've achieved since launching in 2018."
Tickets on sale from 12pm on 24 January.
Ability Fest takes place at Birrarung Marr (Melbourne) 25 March.
