Celebrated and acclaimed composer-conductor Alan Menken – the man behind countless Disney classics – will tour Australia in 2026.
Dubbed a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Menken will entertain audiences in Melbourne and Sydney next May with a repertoire spanning 'The Little Mermaid', 'Beauty And The Beast', 'Aladdin', 'Pocahontas', 'Tangled' and 'The Hunchback Of Notre Dame' as well as Broadway numbers from 'Little Shop Of Horrors', 'Sister Act' and 'Newsies'.
"I'll be sharing my songs and the stories behind my songs from my earliest years to present day," Alan says, who'll perform on piano for his first public appearance in Australia.
"My last trip to Australia was just magical. So I can't wait to be back down under. See you soon."
Titled A Whole New World of Alan Menken, and following seasons in Japan, London, and multiple US cities, the concert will offer a nostalgic, joyful and immersive journey with projected archival photos and rarely seen footage bringing audiences inside his creative world, revealing the inspiration, stories, and behind-the-scenes moments that shaped some of the most iconic songs of all time.
Menken's resume is all but unparalleled, with his achievements including 8 Oscars, 11 Grammy Awards, 7 Golden Globes, a Daytime Emmy Award, a Tony Award, as well as the Olivier Award, Evening Standard Award, 3 Outer Critics Circle Awards, 2 Drama Desk Awards, a Billboard #1 soundtrack with 'Pocahontas', and the Max Steiner Award.
