As we continue to grapple with and navigate the fall-out associated with the ongoing coronavirus, Victorian band Ocean Grove have announced via social media that a member of their group has tested positive for COVID-19.

The band had just completed a run of promotional visits in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to showcase their just-released new album 'Flip Phone Fantasy'. This included meet & greets and record signings with Ocean Grove fans.

"[We] feel a social responsibility to share this news with you immediately," the band said in the statement.

"If you did attend one of these signings, please take into consideration the Australian Government's advice to self-quarantine for two weeks to prevent the spread of the virus."

Ocean Grove statement: 'Hey everybody,

'We just want to be the first to let you all now that we’ve received the unfortunate news that a member of OG has tested positive for COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

'After feeling what was interpreted as a common headache, he began experiencing symptoms of the virus on Monday 16th and was tested the following morning.

'Results have come back today, and our brother is currently in good spirits while being treated.

'We understand we just completed a promotional run of meet & greets over the weekend in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and therefore feel a social responsibility to share this news with you immediately.

'We are so incredibly grateful for the overwhelming amount of support we have received in the weeks leading up to the release of our album and most of all this release week has been truly remarkable.

'It saddens us that those showing their direct support in attending a signing event should be affected in anyway.

'If you did however attend one of these signings, please take into consideration the Australian Government’s advice to self-quarantine for two weeks to prevent the spread of the virus.

'In the event you begin experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, please seek medical attention. Even if you are not experiencing any symptoms and/ or did not attend one of the meet & greets, please consider practising self-distancing and practise good hygiene to stop the virus from spreading.

'Stay as safe/ sane out there as you possibly can. Keep that PMA and remember. . . Rock lives. We love you all very much - Ocean Grove.'
