Eighty people have been injured by lightning at the Rock am Ring festival in Mendig, Germany.
90,000 people scrambled for cover before authorities cancelled the event in the face of further forecast bad weather. The event was shut down on Saturday, two days into the 3-day event. This is the second time lightning has struck for the for the perennial – with thirty-three people zapped in 2015.
Black Sabbath and Red Hot Chilli Peppers headlined the festival which dates back to 1985 when Chris De Burgh, Foreigner, Huey Lewis and Joe Cocker headlined for the inaugural showing.
