LouSkylar is the fortuitous connection of Jess Frizziero and Nathan Batham.
Having met serendipitously at the University of Melbourne, Nathan and Jess started working together in early 2017, an elective music project that went onto become their debut single 'Sin'.
The emerging electro-pop duo fuse vulnerable indie-folk vocals with a heavy-hitting electronic synth soundscape.
Their latest offering is 'Stop, Go' featuring Kavi that continues the duo's rise; it's a broken-beat pop banger that also offers a tender side with vocal breakdowns and trippy synth stabs.
Here, Nathan and Jess share 5 of their favourite weird-food combinations. Though, the scenestr office isn't sold on #3. . . just sayin'.
1: Grilled banana, Nutella & cheese (Nathan)
Sweet with a touch of salt. The cheese really brings a level of balance to the otherwise very sweet combination. Start by spreading a thick layer of Nutella, then thinly slice a banana on top, cover with a few slices of your favourite cheese and then grill until golden.
2: Bacon soaked and cooked in scotch (Nathan)
Scotch and bacon, enough said.
3: Eggs and jam on toast (Nathan)
Sounds a bit outrageous at first, but don't knock it until you try it. Works particularly well with black cherry jam and a poached egg.
4: Fries and ice cream (Jess)
Divisive but delicious, fries and ice cream are a great balance of sweet and savoury. The combo is best made with Maccas fries and a McFlurry.
5: Popcorn and chocolate (Jess)
This is one of those cases where the end result is greater than the sum of its parts. Chocolate is great. Popcorn is great. Chocolate plus popcorn is incredible.
