Big Strong Brute is flexing his muscles up and down the east coast this September with a tri-state EP tour to celebrate the release of his upcoming EP, 'Good Work'.
We asked BSB to compile a Top 5 list... seems he really likes Father John Misty... here are five reasons BSB thinks FJM is better than BSB.

Alexi In Bed interview. I don't know who Alexi is, but let's just say she doesn't exactly occupy the apex of music journalism. But there are two particularly awesome aspects of this interview. Firstly, how do you actually get into a bed with that guy and not try to instigate some funny business? (He is a stunning human.) Secondly, if you fast forward through the asinine questions and Misty's obvious desire to be anywhere else but here, you get a golden kernel of truth at 4:30: "Just focus on making good shit," he says, the only time in the whole interview he's not taking the piss. "Everything else is a distraction."

It's more than a little tempting to think of Misty having his beard and shaggy hair shaved in the video for 'Nancy From Now On', one of the first songs he released after quitting Fleet Foxes - as a not-so-subtle attempt to extricate himself from the beard-folk revival.2.
The first time I saw Misty play, in Berlin, he was drinking whiskey on stage. Turns out he really likes it. I do too. Maybe we could be friends?(Side note: At that show, he had just gotten a tattoo on his chest, so he couldn't button up his shirt. I mention this for no other reason than to put the image of a shirtless Josh Tillman in your head. You're welcome.)

I'm gonna say the opportunity to do inane web interviews was probably not the reason Misty got into the music game. I'm also gonna say that, for him, this inane video interview from Chartattack.com got 100,000 times better when a clearly inebriated woman sat down between him and the journalist and started smoking a doobie. The final quote, at 5:45: "If you can't eat it, you can't fuck it." I guess so, lady. I guess so.Big Strong Brute plays QPAC's Green 26 September (free show).
