5 Venues/ Clubs Big Boss & Spe3d Are Fiending For The Moment Melbourne Dance Floors Are Back

Big Boss & Spe3d's debut single collab is titled 'Way You Move'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Melbourne bass baddies Big Boss and Spe3d deliver a summer-infused trap and moombahton hybrid, with the 'Way You Move' ruder than straight up asking someone to twerk. Yet the booty moving properties of this banger are as irresistible as an order from heaven.

Fast becoming a veteran of the scene, Big Boss is known not just for his club-thumping tunes but also as a mastering engineer and for his production advice on TikTok.

Entering the scene in 2021, Spe3d showcases production chops in advance of his contemporaries with a stellar list of self releases that are impressive and innovative.

"Craziest release day for me personally to date!" shared Spe3d on his Gram. "So keen for the world to hear this collab between @bigbossmusicmastering and I as well as some crazy remixes from @hellospaceprince & @crumpytunes ?.

"Thank you for the support so far to everyone – sending so much love to each and every one of y'all."

With lockdown restrictions easing in Victoria, here we find Big Boss dreaming about the return to clubbing in Melbourne.

(The New) New Guernica

Guerns has been teasing a new venue at the old Barry's on Smith St across the road from The Lame Duck & Yah's.

Judging by their Instagram, it's double story, has a HUGE lighting and sound rig, and if the OG Guerns is anything to go by, a ripper vibe. We've got no clue what music they're sticking to, but the old Guerns had some solid house, disco and tech acts going 'round, so colour me keen.

Rubix Warehouse

Rubix has been the de facto home of Melbourne's bass scene for longer than I can remember; just imagine a big-ass warehouse that hosts everything from DnB to dubstep to reggae to house to hip hop.

I (Big Boss) have been lucky enough to play there on support for some huge touring acts, low-key ITCHING to get back there behind the decks.

Industrique

Another warehouse venue that popped up during COVID, it looks gorgeous and more importantly acoustically treated and has a full Nexo audio rig, so just imagine that sound ?.

The Operatives and Twisted Audio have hosted gigs there, so you know it's gotta be good. Looks like a solid collection of bass, DnB, house music and a bit of psy-trance for the doof heads. God I want a gig to go to SO BAD.

Scarlett Saturdays - Ms.Collins

Situated in CBD, Ms.Collins is a great choice for your Saturday night clubbing fix. Get pumped for a night of banging EDM tunes at one of Melbourne's trendiest venues.

Oh, and they have a floating DJ booth above the bar. Make sure to get there early because boy does this place fill out quickly.

Bond Saturdays - 24 Bond St

Another easy pick, right in the heart of the city – Bond Saturdays serves great music from classic house to RnB to electro at one of Melbourne's premier venues.

The club itself is quite spectacular and Bond Saturdays prides itself at being one of Melbourne's 'premium' nightclubs. Would strongly recommend, especially if you are keen for a big night.
