Ahead of appearances at Groundwater Country Music Festival, Gympie Music Muster and Deni Ute Muster, Whistle Dixie share 5 of their favourite travel destinations.

San Francisco

There's something about the colours and vibrancy of San Francisco that always draw you back. There's always something to do and new things to discover. San Fransisco is a city rich in artistic freedom. For the best clam chowder, head to Boudins Bakery at Pier 39 and then catch the ferry for a night tour of Alcatraz.

Tasmania

Tasmania has so much to offer, from tranquil hikes in the rainforest to eclectic markets by the harbour. It is also a food lovers haven and has a rich sense of community, which is beautiful to see.

New Zealand

Nothing quite compares to the beauty that New Zealand holds. Everywhere you look, you see an utterly breathtaking view. The crystal-blue lakes and brilliantly green, lush mountains are stunning and inspire a sense of peace and tranquility. My dream would be to hire a van and tour from the top to bottom.

Albany, WA

If you want a travel destination which isn't too far away from home, Albany in Western Australia is one stunning, little part of our country. With bright, blossoming gardens, glistening coastlines and a quaint town centre, it is the perfect location for a weekend getaway.

Austin, Texas

Austin is just a cool city with such a great musical crossover, and the people are super friendly. Down on Lamar Blvd in the heart of Austin is the world famous Broken Spoke dancehall. It's where you can drink good, old-fashioned American beer and two-step the night away with friends. The vibe is really old-school and the music is always authentic Texan-style country. Anyone who's anyone has played there and it's got more mojo than Muddy Waters.
