Despite personal breakups, tour cancellations, lost recording sessions and a line-up change, Brisbane indie rockers Fight Ibis have delivered a record, titled 'The Black And White Days'.
"The new album was made out of the love of DIY," the group's frontman Kyuss says. "Recorded and mixed all in a basement, it captures naive ambition pretty well."It's raw and silly but it has the feeling of fun, freedom and sadness sprinkled throughout, making it a well rounded, visit-every-corner kinda album."
Now the band are prepping for a tour that will include visits to Sydney and Newcastle later this month as well as a home-town show this weekend.
"It's exciting to be playing it locally and down across borders where we haven't been able to go in years," Kyuss says.
"The band is in the best spirits it's ever been in and we're all itching to visit YOU soon. Yeah! We're feeling ambitious and looking to become millionaires by the end of this run, so come along and help make that happen."
Here, the band share a few tips for those lads who find themselves with newfound love.
1: Show her your skills
So you've finally ground her down and convinced her she's your girlfriend. Congrats! But unfortunately for you this is probably the very bottom for her, so it's a perfect opportunity to bring her out of the dark place with your new garage-sale bought delay pedal on which you've created a genre called 'dream-noise'.

This charisma will shortly fade and you'll be back in your beanbag eating potato chips within a matter of hours, so it's important to spend a lot of time on YouTube accumulating big-dick energy.
4: Pretend things don't hurt
Your 1990 Mazda 3 coughs and splutters as you head to your favourite underground punk venue with her in the passenger seat and her face in her phone.Why is she laughing so much!? You've never heard her laugh like that! She's talking to Connor from uni. The handsome art major guy? Yeah he's awesome!
You met him that one time at that ball you were dragged to wearing a tan tuxedo your grandad gave you. Was a great night even though he patted you on the head and they walked off arm-linked to the bathroom for half an hour. Must've been catching up on uni!
5: Know when it's real
Your generally naive, rarely honest brain sneaks some truth. As another in-between song joke bombs and you stare at an escaped cigarette filter on the ground, you have a moment with yourself and you finally accept it. True love is at home in the beanbag. The delay pedal and the potato chips understand you better than she ever will.You take a look at her one last time as she sits with her head in her hand and the phone in the other. Without a goodbye you head out to your Mazda.
