Electronic-pop artist Sypress has released the third single from her forthcoming debut EP 'Bother Me'.
'Gunz Ablaze' is a cheeky, bold tech house banger with slammin' bouncy beats and crisp, tight production. It has similar feels to recent tracks by the likes of Haiku Hands and Confidence Man – the perfect song to add to your workout playlist or the ultimate d-floor filler.
"'Gunz Ablaze' is about being hunted for love but only feeling lust – being a man eater and enjoying the chase," Sypress says.
"The vocals were written and demo recorded in my home studio with my best friend Jesse aka FOSTYR.
"It was our first time writing together and we spent a full afternoon and evening having the best time channelling our 'bad bitvh' energy. This song is where Sypress was born."
So far Sypress aka Isy Piper has released two other singles: 'Back2U' in November and 'Bother Me' back in March. Here, Sypress shares five things about herself you probably didn't know.
1: I was raised on a small sail boat off the north east-coast of Australia and was home schooled until I was about 13 years old.
Most of my days would consist of swimming, catching fish and exploring islands, however it was quite lonely sometimes so I learnt to be pretty creative by finding ways to entertain myself. I would sometimes just sing to myself for hours off the back deck.
2: I once owned a retro-style fashion boutique in Byron Bay, which sold vintage and second hand designer pieces. It was decked out with Chechen flooring and chains from the roof holding the clothing racks. I would get the pieces from online vintage sales and thrift shops.
3: I used to been known as ISY ISY. I sung and produced pop-electro songs, I worked with some incredible artists and supported quite a few major acts from 2018-2020 like Nicole Miller, Yolanda be Cool, Winston Surfshirt and G Flip.
4: I'm two years sober and I love it. I don't smoke, drink or take party drugs, which comes as quite a shock to a lot of people in the industry, but it works for me and I definitely don't miss hangovers, haha!
5: I have 27 tattoos. My tattoos have been accumulated over time and are not all aesthetically the same style, but they are on my body as little reminders to myself. Whether that be an experience that shaped me or a time that tested me, they are all basically little Post-It Notes to myself.
