Before we entered the COVID-19 'twilight zone' we asked Melbourne band All The Colours (who recently released their third studio album 'Vol. 3') to supply a Top 5 listicle.
They came back with 5 things to do in Los Angeles after spending a lot of time writing and recording the new album in sunny LA.The band worked with long-time collaborator Cian Riordan and producer Chris Taylor during sessions in Los Angeles to produce the distinctive alt-rock vibe they were chasing.
“The music was an expression of our love for '90s alt-rock,” songwriter Josh Moriarty says. “We dived deep into the riff pool and came up with as many variations as possible, trying to find something fresh.”
Given international travel is about to drastically change, you'll want to file this listicle for when the world returns to normal. Or keep it for the nostalgic feels if we head towards the Dark Ages.
1: You gotta go check out the Griffith Observatory
It's obligatory on your first visit to LA. You get to see the scope of the city, the sprawling beast that is LA. I always enjoy taking people up there; it has a classic tourist charm.2: Pappy & Harriets
It is actually in Pioneer Town, which is a few hours out of LA but it's worth the trip. The food is bad-ass American-comfort style and the music is always entertaining; they've had incredible acts plat there over the years. It's THE place to be when you are out that direction. Think of an old cowboy rock & roll saloon and that's the vibe. You can also make a trip of it and head to the Joshua Tree National Park, which is one of my favourite places on the planet.
