Sunhaus are a Brisbane four-piece indie-rock outfit whose Facebook page states 'are charmingly awkward and bear stories about frustrating young love, foolish behaviour and the life through rose-coloured glasses'.

The band will release their next single, 'Bobby' (about the loss of drummer Adela’s dog), at a Brisbane show in early December.

Last week's US Election result must've, we're assuming, rocked the band. We asked for a Top 5 listicle... they gave us 5 songs that mirror their feelings about Trump's success.

1. Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole - Martha Wainwright

In a perfect world, Martha would be performing this at the inauguration. Maybe, just maybe, we could sneak her in.

2. I’m Afraid Of Americans - David Bowie

I can’t imagine how afraid Bowie would be if he were with us today. Bless his soul and his beautiful face.

3. Bite It, You Scum - GG Allin

GG may have thrown his faeces at his audience members for fun, but I’m sure he’d have made a better President. With quotes like: “I believe I am the highest power, absolutely”, and “I hate everybody”, don’t you think it would be strikingly similar, only a little less stale in predictability?

4. Fake Empire - The National

An instrumental version of the song was initially in Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign video, but it would seem much more fitting at Trump’s inauguration, even to just feel for a second that this isn’t real. On a lighter note, I can’t help but think that Matt Berninger would have been great to play election day drinking games with. One for Trump, two for me; I win.

5. It’s All Gonna Break - Broken Social Scene

Kevin Drew’s jarring squarks and melancholic slurs hold a resemblance to what I was like after a lot of cheap wine, junk food and other miscellaneous Bridget Jones moments on the day.

Sunhaus launch new single ‘Bobby' at the Bloodhound Bar (Brisbane) 2 December.
