Earlier this month, Brisbane electronic pop songstress Oh Bailey released her new single, 'Tamagotchi'.
Inspired by themes of yearning and dependency, the track touches on feelings of desertion and fears of being forgotten."'Tamagotchi' is written from the perspective of a toy that has been left on a shelf," Oh Bailey says. "It's waiting for its owner to return and bring the toy's world back to life."
'Tamagotchi' is the second song released by Oh Bailey after her debut single 'Free Fall' earlier this year.
Inspired by a new generation of alternative pop, Oh Bailey draws influence from artists Maggie Rogers, The 1975 and The Japanese House, who feature prominently in Oh Bailey's favourite songs that bring her happiness and longing for warmer weather.
"These are some of my favourite songs that I love to listen to, and bring such happiness to me when I listen to them!" beams Oh Bailey.
The Japanese House - 'Cool Blue'
This song is perfect for a road trip to the beach, on your way to a waterhole or just to listen to when you're with friends.Holy Holy - 'Elevator'
'Elevator' is one of those songs that makes you feel super nostalgic and hopeful. This song never fails to make me feel happy or play air guitar.
Maggie Rogers - 'Give A Little'
Ahh Maggie! This gem of a song oozes summer vibes. It's so upbeat and really makes you want to dance with your friends and go swimming.
The 1975 - 'If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)'
The 1975 are so good at making bangers that are super fun to dance to, with this song being no exception. The best part of this song is not only the very catchy chorus, but the synth bassline!Pro tip, listen to the full version not radio edit for the full experience this song has to offer.
