With a mantra to 'get loose, get nostalgic and get into it', Bunny Racket is here to rock you.
Whether you are 3 or 103 years old, you will not be able to resist the beautiful madness of King Bunny and his gang of fluffy punk-rock friends.King Bunny – who grew up in the early '80s and still wears his love of hard rock and pop culture on his sleeveless battle jacket – a few years back partnered with Brant Bjork (Kyuss) and Robby Krieger (The Doors) in the Californian desert to pursue a project that would create rock & roll harmony across the generations.
Plugged in with influences ranging from The Ramones, KISS, Black Sabbath and The Muppets, the music of Bunny Racket reminds both actual kids and big kids at heart of the innocence of being young: endless freedom, Saturday morning cartoons, and super-rad soundtracks.
With a line-up featuring members of The Vines, Goons Of Doom and Wolfmother, Bunny Racket returns to the stage at Little Day Out as part of the SPARK Ipswich 2023 programme next week.
Here, King Bunny shares five reasons why children should bow dow at the rock & roll altar. Raise the horns!
1: Life without rock & roll is like eating a burger without the pickles
Sure, it's still good, but it's missing that extra kick that makes you wanna climb up on the table and belt out a verse from 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with a mouthful of fries.Rock & roll is the secret sauce of life, and your kids deserve to experience those sonic munchies every day.
2: Rock & roll is like a superhero cape, except cooler and louder
Yeah, Spiderman is cool. Even Batman has his moments. I particularly dig Wonder Woman! However, imagine the powers your kids will have when they become the champions of the guitar, defenders of the drum kit, and saviours of the sweet riff. They'll be able to vanquish the evil forces of boredom with a power chord and save the world, one killer show at a time. Adios Clark Kent. Hello Eddie Van Halen!
3: Think about all those boring family gatherings that could be turned around like the volume dial on a Marshall AMP
Instead of awkward intergenerational small talk, your kids can whip out their electric guitars, crank up the amps, and transform the dullest of gatherings into an epic stage show. Who needs polite conversation when you can have a mosh pit?4: Rock & roll is the ultimate stress reliever, like a sonic massage for the soul
Your kids will have a built-in therapy session every time they strum a chord or belt out a scream. No more need for expensive therapists or meditation apps. They'll be rocking their worries away and leaving them in a trail of dust left by their their busted up old tour van.5: Long live rock & roll
I believe that the dedication to rock & roll should be a childhood requirement! What kind of a world would it be if the torch of rock wasn't passed down to our youngest screaming headbangers?Rock & roll is an art form best shared with friends and family. Let's rock!
SPARK Ipswich takes place at various locations in Ipswich until 16 July. Little Day Out takes place at Ripley Town Centre (Ipswich) 16 July with two sessions: 9am & 1pm.
