We asked him to supply a listicle; so he generated a list of reasons not to create a list. Funny guy.

“Look, I’m not going to lie. Lists can be really helpful and needed. I still use them sometimes (like when I go grocery shopping), but I’ve figured out a few things about lists that have made me look in other directions.”

1: Sometimes lists lie

When me and my girlfriend are having a chilled night on the couch, we could almost have watched a movie in the time we take to choose one. Don’t be fooled by most 'Best Movies' lists full of Hollywood trash and don’t even get me started on Netflix. Beware the vortex.

2: Seriously though, to-do lists are proven to cause anxiety

When I’ve researched time management strategies for my businesses, I’ve found studies that show to-do lists cause anxiety and underlying feelings of guilt if you don’t complete everything on your list; and I’ve felt it firsthand.

3: There’s better ways to time manage

I’m often asked how I fit running an agency, record label, events and DJing into my week. I tell those people – it’s not easy. I still have a lot to learn, but it’s all about time management. Take the time to research and learn what works best for you, your lifestyle and your work.

4: Vision boards are better

Instead of a dry list of goals, create a visual version of it. Find photos and logos of the festivals you want to perform at, the beautiful countries you want to visit, even a mock up of what you want your bank account to reach, then print them all out and collage them on a board that you look at every day.

5: Just do

With so much happening in our personal lives and the outer world, writing down everything we want to do would be a list that never ends. I’ve learnt that when you decide to do something, just make it happen.
