5 Rad Things From The '80s With Never Ending 80s

Never Ending 80s
National Music Editor, based in Brisbane, Australia.
'Passionate about true crime docos, the Swannies, golf and sleep, I’ve been writing about music for 20-plus years. What I’ve learnt? There’s two types of music – good and bad.’

It was an era of big hair and big hits from the biggest artists of our time and now, thanks to Australia's hot, new musical experience, our '80s favourites need never end after all.

Back by popular demand, Never Ending 80s have announced 14 New South Wales dates for the Hot In The City Tour this summer, the show taking audiences right back under that disco ball like it's 1989 with hit after dance-inducing hit.

"Adz Arcadium here from the Never Ending 80s giving you my Top 5 rad things from the '80s."

Raddest song - 'You're The Voice'

This is too hard! I love so many: Van Halen's 'Jump', Rick Springfield's 'Jessie’s Girl'. But number one has to go to 'You're The Voice' by John Farnham. The power ballad to end all power ballads of the time, and even though the synths sound very '80s, this song is timeless as we all saw at this year's ARIA Awards.

Favourite movie - 'Back To The Future'

While I LOVE Bowie in 'Labyrinth' and I am a HUGE fan of 'The Karate Kid', #1 movie in the '80s goes to 'Back To The Future'. How can you beat hanging out with a mad scientist that can have you travel through time?

I think it would be the coolest thing ever. "Wait a minute. Wait a minute Doc, uh, are you telling me you built a time machine ... out of a DeLorean?"

'80s crush - Christina Applegate

I have to say I was pretty young in the '80s and had a mega crush on Miss Christina Applegate from 'Married With Children' (rumour has it they may make a Married with Grandchildren: here's hoping!).

Gnarliest video game - Super Mario

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! My Nintendo, so I’ll give Mario my top spot. Many an hour spent in my bedroom on the Nintendo. I can still hear the little ding from bumping money out of the bricks.

Best TV show - 'Family Ties'

I am a massive fan of Micheal J. Fox, so this one goes to 'Family Ties'. Even though it was funny, it had some amazing, dramatic scenes with great actors I still remember to this day.
