Rollicking country-rock soaked in cosmic alt.country feels before being marinated in whiskey-bathed soulful blues, welcome to the sonic adventures of Lady Lyon.
2022 has seen the Sydney group riding shotgun for a host of artists opening for the likes of Jen Cloher, C.W. Stoneking, The Living End, Polish Club, Jon Toogood, Full Flower Moon Band, Gabriella Cohen, and Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys. Self-described as 'cowgirl blues at its finest', Lady Lyon also maintain they write 'their songs like they make love. Pure, threatening and sumptuous nostalgia for the heart that will linger in you long after your feet stop the inevitable two-step.'
Their first single of 2022 is titled 'Texas Golden'. "[It's] obviously a love song, but don't let that deter you," begins Hayley Lyon.
"Described as Americana-flavoured pop and garage rock & roll shakedown, it is the first release from our sophomore EP 'Charity Bag', coming out in April 2023."
The band are also hitting the road for a host of headline gigs up and down the east-coast. "We're thrilled to be heading out on our first east-coast tour and playing a bunch of shows with friends old and new between Brisbane and Ballarat," Hayley says.
"The Everything's Bigger in Texas tour, fuelled by the legends at Young Henrys, starts this weekend at the famous cosmic country weekender Dashville Skyline before rolling out across October and November, culminating in Sydney at our beloved Petersham Bowling Club in late November."

Head back towards the city to catch a show upstairs in the main room in this iconic Sydney live music venue. Recently reinvigorated by the Oxford Art Factory crew, there's live music most nights of the week and it's our fave place for a late-night boogie.

Wind down (or up!) in Sydney's best small bar. The Tommy's Margs are our go-to and the crew and tunes are the perfect nightcap.
