5 Must-Listen Songs Or Albums That Heart Romance Shared By Dulcie

Dulcie are a pop trio from Perth, Western Australia.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Dulcie are a three-piece band from Western Australia.

Having toured with Ocean Alley, Hockey Dad and Amy Shark already in 2022, the band are hitting their stride with three singles released this year.

The first single, 'Tell Ur Friends', jumped straight onto triple j rotation and the girls have not looked back with current single 'Cold Hard Truth' another triple j fave.

"Just found out that 'Cold Hard Truth' is the #1 most played song on triple j at the moment [9 August], which is an absolute head spin! Thank you so much for all the love; our hearts are gonna burst!"

Aside from rocking stages all across the country (which they'll do again next month as King Stingray's special guests on their virtually sold-out national tour) and ahead of their showcase at BIGSOUND, we asked the ladies for some relationship advice.

What would be five influential relationship-driven albums or musical moments from across their lives that they would isolate as must-listens?

1: 'White Roses' by Flyte

I love this song, it's so whimsical and romantic. It sounds nostalgic and warm, like a classic film soundtrack. The perfect song for any romance.

2: 'Melchor Lullaby Hotline Vol. 1' by Adam Melchor

The amount of times I've listened to this album! It's so soft and easy on the ears. It's so raw and authentic which I love. Music like this reminds me of how it feels to know someone really well and have that connection.

3: 'Believe Acoustic' by Justin Bieber

Let's just say I can't remember how many times I have listened to this album! It's an ultimate relationship roller coaster, taking you through so many segments of what a relationship is from happy to sad.

4: 'House Of Sugar' by Alex G

This album is so well written. Alex G has his own unique sound, jumping between biographical and fictional in the same sentence. Most of his songs I interpret to be gloomy love songs with a twist.

5: 'Feels Like' by Gracie Abrams

This song captures desire so well. It sounds so light and easy, like you could be anywhere with someone and it be whimsical and enchanting. It's all about being head over heels, like you could and would do anything for them.

BIGSOUND (Brisbane) takes place 6-9 September. Dulcie showcase at Summa House 7 September at 9.40pm.
